It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Who doesn’t love the holidays?  This year, Christmas really snuck up on me.  I feel like it was just Thanksgiving, and 2012 is now just a week away!  I have always loved Christmas. It’s always been a really big deal in my family, mostly because it’s the one time we all cram ourself into one of our houses, and really enjoy each other’s company, with no distractions.   The smallest group we have ever had at a house is 12 for Christmas, so there are a lot of us!

I just love everything about the holidays.   From the ornaments on the tree (every one of ours has a story behind it – go ahead, I dare you to find one where I don’t know who gave it to us and when!) to Christmas music, to seeing the looks on the little kids faces when you tell them Santa is on his way, I just eat it all up…

This year definitely didn’t disappoint – we had live entertainment (courtesy of one of my youngest cousins!), a Yankee swap for the adults, presents for the kids, and even made sure to see and talk to the family that couldn’t make it this year…

I even made our dog pose for a Christmas picture, just before we gave her a well deserved bone!  Although I am pretty sure she enjoyed helping unwrap our gifts more…

Speaking of wrapping – Josh’s uncle Pete definitely earned the “most creatively wrapped present” award this year!  I didn’t want to open it (but we did!)…

And of course, the new addition to Josh’s side of the family, Cuddles (aka the puppy formerly known as Peanut), got a visit too.  She loved what we brought – so fun!

No matter which holiday it is that you may celebrate, I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season with your closest family and friends!  I’d wish you a happy new year now, but you will definitely be hearing from me one more time (maybe two!) before 2011 officially comes to a close.
