I might be a little bit biased towards these two, but they’re just two of the most adorable kiddos ever. I can say kiddos, because I used to help babysit Lee growing up, and he’ll always be my little cousin. I couldn’t be happier that next September, I’ll be able to officially call Amanda my cousin as well! I have to admit, when Amanda and Lee asked me to be their wedding photographer, tears were shed. I am so honored that they are entrusting me with their day, and I can assure you, their Sugarbush wedding is going to be epic! This past week, we were able to get out and finally take some engagement photos for their save the dates. It was a coin toss right up to the date if we were going to be able to get their session in before the leaves fell off the trees completely, between rescheduling for family events and rain. The forecast wasn’t looking great, but we decided to go for it anyway, and ended up with some great moody light, and an awesome surprise sunset!
This is totally my new favorite spot in the arboretum – a perfect raised pathway through the reeds that change so much all year long.
The Arnold Arboretum is simply gorgeous. Especially when the trees hold on to their perfect red and yellow leaves, just for your session, while still having the perfect blanket of leaves around to play in. Yes, I totally arranged that ;)
As it started to rain, we packed up and got back in the car. While driving to have a bite to eat, I saw the horizon brightening up with a bright yellow light, with under 5 minutes until sunset. I may have yelled something about getting to higher ground, this sunset had potential, and we’re going to make it to Millennium Park, just in case. Boy, I am glad we did!
Amanda and Lee, I cannot WAIT for your wedding! We’re going to have so much fun!
