Em & Corey: Engaged! | Boston Sunrise Engagement Session

I knew when I first chatted with Em and Corey over FaceTime that they were an awesome couple.  Strike that, before I even spoke with Em, I knew I’d like them, since she told me that my ridiculously awesome bride Janelle had sent her my way (I mean, who can’t love someone who knows a couple that rocks out their snowy engagement session the way Janelle and Shawn did?).  Em and Corey live in New Jersey, so the logistics of their engagement session were a little bit different than normal, because they were only going to be in the area for a few days for a friend’s wedding.  I suggested that before they head back home, we get a (really really really) early start and take Boston to ourselves for a sunrise engagement session, and to my surprise, Em and Corey didn’t miss a beat saying “sounds great, we’re morning people anyway!”  Even with a few wrong turns leading them on an auto tour of Boston’s highways and bridges, we were able to wander around the Boston waterfront, Christopher Columbus Park, and Faneuil Hall before the city was bustling with commuters starting their work weeks.  I have to say, I fell in love with Boston a little more this Monday morning, and I’d be totally content kicking off every week at sunrise with awesome couples like Em and Corey.  It makes it impossible to have a case of the Mondays.

For my couples who would love to shoot in Boston, but are hoping for fewer people around to help calm your nerves of being in front of the camera (which will subside so quickly, I promise!), this is the way to go!  The 3am alarm is totally worth it.

I love the way these two look at each other.  For a long while at the start of their relationship, Corey would drive and fly from the northeast down to North Carolina to visit Emily in college.  I like to think that this was how they would look at each other when he arrived, every time. :)
