Tracy and Eddy are one of those couples that just get each other. Both of them have such a quiet and calm presence, with just the right amount of spunk and goofiness. After photographing them this spring at their engagement session, I knew that their wedding day was going to be brimming with elegance. With a beautiful pink and grey palette, it was a classic affair, mixing timeless Chinese traditions with a New York flair. I was joined by my colleague Tara Lyn Z and handsome assistant Josh (I’m allowed to say that when it’s my husband!), and a wonderful team of vendors. From the Brenda and her team at Venezia (who not only made sure the guests were taken care of, but treated us so well, and made sure we were fed quickly and early so we could get back to business before the guests had finished their meals), to the makeup and hair team from Lisa Chy and May Chin leaving all of the girls looking absolutely flawless, and perfectly arranged flowers from The Tangled Web, everything was exactly as it should be.
Tara joined the guys as they prepped for the day, with all of them looking quite dapper if I do say so!
Tracy, you are the epitome of a beautiful bride.
Tracy & Eddy opted to do all of their photos before the ceremony and have a first look, so they could enjoy the day. We found a quiet spot at the Arnold Arboretum for just the two of them before asking the bridal party to join us. Once Tracy and Eddy signaled it was ok for us to come on over, we took a few portraits and had the rest of the crew jump in!
Venezia has some pretty awesome spots for pictures, between this awesome wall just across the way, a spectacular view of Boston (we had some clouds blocking it, but it was still awesome), and the docks, we had some fun before it was time for all of the guests to arrive! It’s so great to get family formals out of the way before they actually have to watch all the rest of the guests having fun without them. It makes everything go so much quicker, since there’s nothing distracting the group!
After we finished all of our portraits, it was time for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
Just outside the bridal suite, guests were arriving, and the ceremony was about to begin.
This was such a fun group, and Tracy and Eddy were so wrapped up in each other for their first dance. It was like they were the only two people in the whole world that existed.
As the sun fell over the water, Tracy’s sister and Eddy’s best friend gave some wonderful toasts filled with both laughter and tears.
I couldn’t help but pull Tracy and Eddy outside for a quick portrait with the sky just after sunset as the colors started to fade into night.
This was probably the most elaborate dessert display I’ve ever seen! Everything was made on site, and tasted as yummy as it looked.
With all of the formalities complete, there was nothing left to do but party, and the littlest guest kicked it off!
Tracy & Eddy, thank you so much for having me at such an awesome celebration. I am so honored to have spent the day with you, your family, and friends!
