Erin & Craig: Engaged! | An Arnold Arboretum Engagement Session

Erin & Craig met online in 2011, and have never looked back.  These two are perfectly matched.  With Erin’s quiet and sweet demeanor and Craig’s quirky and wonderful sense of humor (perfect for an awesome Chemistry teacher!), they keep each other totally balanced.  I met them at the Arnold Arboretum a few weeks ago for their engagement session, and we wandered around smelling the beautifully blooming lilacs everywhere we went.

As we wandered, Erin laughed about how she felt like it was the day of their proposal all over again, where she had no idea where we were or where we were heading, but was having a wonderful time anyway.  Knowing that they both love the outdoors, Craig took Erin on a hike to the top of Mount Holyoke (since it was named after where she had gone to college when they had met), and surprised her with not a ring, but a stone from the shores of New Bedford, where Erin spent much of her time growing up.  You see, Craig knew that they wanted to select Erin’s engagement ring together, but he still wanted to be able to surprise her with a proposal, so he carefully selected a granite stone for his geology major bride to be.  And since Craig knew “every girl wants a big rock”, it was the perfect choice.
