Erin & Craig: Married! | A Classic New Bedford Wedding

It’s been quiet on the blog front, because we’ve been shooting like crazy over the past few months!  Where do we even start with Erin & Craig?  This was one of those weddings where you walk away knowing that it was a perfect day for an amazing couple.  Erin & Craig had a beautiful day filled with wonderful personal touches inspired (and some crafted!) by their family and friends.  These two are a pair that are so absolutely sweet (if you haven’t read their engagement story, read it here!), and you can’t help but want to do everything to make their day special.  To top it off, Erin & Craig, as well as their family and friends know how to swing dance!  They don’t just know the steps, but they know how to float around the dance floor like the entire song invokes one fluid motion from start to finish.  It was so wonderful to watch.

Craig’s mom hand made this handkerchief for Erin.  I have never seen something so delicately handmade.

As Erin donned her finishing touches, her dad quietly stepped into the room (I love his reflection in the doorway).

Meanwhile, Josh popped over to Craig for some finishing touches of his own.

We all headed over to Buttonwood park, and after a few portraits of Craig, Erin arrived for them to see each other for the first time.  If you’re on the fence about a first look, take a look at these images.  Erin & Craig had a solid 20 minutes to themselves when they saw each other, without anyone approaching them.  At one point I heard Erin quietly say, “I’m so excited to start the rest of our lives together.”  This is why I do what I do, guys.  For those real emotions that you can’t have when you’re being pulled in ten directions at once.  Take a few minutes to slow down and forget about all the to do’s and be together.  It will be worth it.

Once Erin & Craig were ready, we started our portraits with their family and bridal party.  Knowing they weren’t missing any time with their guests, everyone was able to relax and enjoy (even Craig’s dad had a few laughs, despite joking that we weren’t allowed to take any photos of him!).

With everyone on their way to the church, Erin & Craig snuggled with a little goodbye until the aisle.Image by Caroline Talbot Photography | ctalbotphoto.com

Craig is a chemistry teacher at an agricultural school, so all of their florals arrangements were designed by his students, complete with beakers and flasks!  Each table was named for a famous scientist, with a short bio for guests to learn a little more about them while they waited for the celebration to begin.

With dinner complete and our two tiniest guests priming the dance floor, everyone was ready to celebrate for the rest of the afternoon!

Erin & Craig, thank you so much for allowing us to be such a special part of your wedding day.  You are both such kind souls, and we are better for knowing you!
