Lisa & Will: Engaged! | A Great Brook Farm Engagement Session

We met Lisa & Will through Leah & Nick, and it’s pretty easy to see why they are friends.  Not only do they love to laugh and have fun, but they’re so genuinely caring and humble.  Lisa would so casually brush off my gawking at how beautiful her eyes are, and Will smiles every time he looks in Lisa’s direction.  They’ve been friends since high school (they even went to prom together!), but didn’t start dating until Will had finished his tour serving our country (although Lisa couldn’t wait to ask him out, and asked for a date during his mid tour leave!).  She laughed telling us about her “1940’s problem” of wanting to date this handsome soldier who was off at war.  Luckily, as soon as her soldier was home, their love story began!

When Will asked Lisa to marry him, it was a very rainy evening when he asked her to go for a walk in Boston – he admits his cover was probably blown at this point, but Lisa knew it was too important of an evening to say no :)  It may not have been raining at their session, so instead we drenched them in sunlight!

Rebecca & Eric: Engaged! | A Bird Park Walpole Engagement Session

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of heading back near our old stomping grounds, to meet Rebecca & Eric for their engagement session while they were visiting the area from Brooklyn.  It was one of those breezy cool days that should have been way warmer for the time of year, but Rebecca & Eric were such great sports about not letting the chill show at all!  We laughed throughout their entire session, joking that we had all four seasons wrapped into their session with all the dancing the sun did for us!

We first met Rebecca & Eric while we were photographing Dana’s dress before she and Alec’s wedding at Endicott estate.  Lucky for them (and us!), Dana hadn’t arrived at the venue yet, so I let them peek into the bridal suite during their tour of the space, and asked for my card (+1 for always having cards on you!).  These college sweethearts (despite quite a funny story of how they met including a snarky college boy named Eric and a sweet dorm hall attendant named Rebecca asking about his ID), are so sweet together, and it’s clear that they are totally balanced together – they move completely in sync, and they’re so natural being snuggled up in each other’s arms!

Rebecca and Eric – we cannot WAIT until your wedding this fall at Endicott Estate!  It’s going to be such an amazing day!

Amanda & Derek: Engaged! | A Tufts University Engagement Session

It may be a dreary day today, but I’m about to share some sunshine with you folks! Amanda & Derek met Amanda’s senior year, and Derek’s junior year at Tufts University, where Amanda played a little hard to get while studying during a party her roommate was hosting.  After a little convincing from Derek, Amanda fell head over heels for him, and knew he was the one.  It was only appropriate that we returned to their old stomping grounds, and Tufts did not disappoint!  Even with some strong winds, these two were so sweet together.  We can’t wait for their Preston Ridge Vineyard wedding this June!

Jess & Matt: Engaged! | A Lowell MA Engagement Session

I don’t know about you guys, but even having a little snow on the ground is making me yearn for warmer days and being outside without wearing gloves!  We were so spoiled at the end of 2015 with lots of unseasonably warm evenings, and we took full advantage.  You may have caught a glimpse of Jess & Matt in our 2015 highlights post, but it’s time for their full blown feature!  This hipster pair will be tying the knot at the New England Carousel Museum later this year, so we wanted to make sure to nod to the classic old New England feel by heading to Lowell and all the awesome old mill buildings for their engagement session.  We absolutely love how every one of our couples has such a unique take on what their wedding should be, and each one is a perfect reflection of them!  We met Jess & Matt through Nick & Leah, and have become great friends already – we’re so pumped that we’ll be able to document their day for them.  Top how fun they are off with how absolutely genuine and caring they are for each other and everyone around them, and you’ve got two very lucky photographers.  Seriously, these guys are the type of people who you know they would drop anything to help a friend.  I could spend all day gushing about how great these guys are, but instead I’ll get on to their photos!

Can we just talk about how stunning Jess is?  Talk about old hollywood style!

The best of 2015!

It’s the new year, and it’s a time for resolutions, reflection, and looking ahead to the future, and we can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for our couples!  Before we launch into the new year, we took this week to look back on 2015 and remind ourselves of what an awesome year it was, with such an awesome group of people, and weddings ranging from garden parties, to rustic barns, to black tie Boston affairs.  We couldn’t have asked for anything more, and we learned and/or were reminded of a few things.  First, we love black and white way more than we realized.  If you want to quickly see our favorites from your wedding – take a look at what we processed in classic and timeless black & white.  Chances are those are some of our most loved images from your day!  Second, our couples, no matter what their style, are so completely honest and genuine and surround themselves with equally minded people (okay, we didn’t learn that writing this post, but it was awesome to be reminded of that!).  So here we go, a trip down memory lane for the Caroline Talbot Photo class of 2015 (including a few sneak peeks for some of our 2016 couples who haven’t had their engagement sessions blogged yet!)!
