Happy F-F-F-Friday everyone! Sorry, that was just my teeth chattering. It’s freaking freezing out, so before I put on my 367 layers to head outside, I’m going to leave this here for you – it will certainly warm your heart! I first met Christen & Alex when they were guests at Stephanie & Dan’s wedding, where Christen fell in love with the venue. I’m happy to say I’ll be returning back to White Cliffs Country Club in 2017 for a reunion with this group of awesome friends, this time for Christen & Alex to tie the knot! We had such a blast hanging out with these guys in their neighborhood in Somerville, during the hustle and bustle of rush hour. Alex and Christen couldn’t stop laughing with each other, and we wandered Davis Square, complete with a stop at their favorite date spot!
Where do I even begin with how much we love Tracy & Ashley? After knowing them as great next door neighbors, then as amazing clients, we can’t say enough wonderful things about this pair. I think we laughed more than we photographed (okay, that’s an exaggeration, but we seriously didn’t stop laughing all day). Everything about this wedding was so personal. From their amazing ceremony officiated by their close friend (who couldn’t help but burst into both tears and laughter at the same time), to some incredibly hysterical toasts, to an energetic dance party complete with an intense limbo competition, it was a blast from start to finish. They’re a perfect example of how to enjoy your wedding day, and forget about the rest.
I love how both Ashley & Tracy both fell into a complete fit of laughter as they got to the end of the aisle.
The Royal Sonesta provided a beautiful backdrop of the Boston Skyline during their ceremony.
Sometimes, you just have to take a break from standing during the whole ceremony.
Everyone immediately broke into celebration mode during a lively cocktail hour! From here on out, it was full on party mode for this group. Each and every guest knew they were in for an amazing soiree.
At the end of the evening, we had to sneak the Mrs. and Mrs. away for a few quick portraits with the evening skyline and their killer party shoes. Thank you again for having us – we can’t wait to see where the rest of this crazy adventure of life takes you!
Blogging on a Saturday? Yep, that’s right! It’s the week before Thanksgiving, and that means it’s time to share how grateful we are for all of our couples! I have realized that I say almost every wedding how “this one holds a special place for us”, and every time, it holds true. We get to really know all of our couples, so it feels like they’re family by the time their wedding rolls around. Even more so with Michelle & Mike, because many of our past couples will remember Cori, our all around adorable assistant who will sometimes make an appearance with us, and doubles as a professional bridesmaid or right hand man the guys, is Michelle’s little sister, so we know how amazing this family is. It was one of those days where the excitement is undeniable, and we heard from multiple people, “seriously, today is just the best day!” You’ll remember these guys from their amazing nautical engagement session, and I am so happy that these high school sweethearts found each other. Their wedding day was a beautifully designed nautical affair, and I felt like we were photographing the Kennedys when we had them at sunset by the water. We started our day with them at the Lighthouse Inn, where they prepped for the day, and were able to walk over to the West Dennis Yacht Club for their stunning ceremony and reception!
Cori was so beyond happy for her sister, and how can you not love that bubbly smile?
Just across the way, Josh spent some time with Mike and his guys, who had a very serious game of mini golf outside their lodge to play.
Now I know where Cori & Michelle get their smiles from :) Their mom got a serious cheek workout that day!
Michelle’s dad and brother Brody were left speechless when they walked in.
Michelle, you are just stunning.
When everyone was ready, we stepped away to allow Michelle & Mike to see each other for the first time. It’s so wonderful to have this time for just the two of you, with nobody telling you what to do, and to just be together without distraction.
Ok, so if you are on the fence about whether or not a first look will take away from the moment you walk down the aisle, please take a look at Mike as Michelle walked down the aisle. Without the nerves of everyone wondering what his reaction would be, he was able to be completely open to the moment, and (maybe unsuccessfully) was holding back tears of happiness.
At the end of the night, we had to take advantage of one of the clearest skies we’ve seen in a very long time! We could not have ended our Cape Cod part of our season in better style than with these two!
It’s time to share yet another couple that we are so thankful to have met this year. Dana & Alec got married at the Endicott Estate, right around the corner from our old home, so we were so happy to be back in our old stomping grounds! These two are a perfect match for each other. Dana helps keep Alec calm, while Alec is the logistics manager, making sure that everything is always running smoothly. Alec is one of those guys that may hide his emotions, but is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful gentlemen we’ve had the pleasure of working with. One of our favorite moments of the day was watching Dana page through a scrapbook Alec had made of the history of their relationship, to surprise her before their wedding. This was a day that was filled with energy, with one of the best horahs we’ve seen this year, to the groom and his friends’ outward love for boy band music, we couldn’t help but smile all day. Top that all off with some of the most beautiful blush details and the historic and romantic estate, and you’ve got yourself a killer day!
Dana & Alec, thank you for having us join you on such a joyful journey, and we know you have lots of happiness waiting for you!
Maria & Jeff, where do we start? Maria & Jeff are one of the most genuine and casual couples we had the pleasure of working with this year. As soon as we shot their engagement session, we knew we were in for a treat. Jeff keeps Maria (and himself) laughing, which makes our job easy. Everyone was calm cool and collected all day, and Jeff had one of the best reactions to seeing his bride at their first look, on top of bursting into tears of joy both during and after their ceremony. He may play off that he’s a jokester, but when it comes to Maria, he’s an absolute teddy bear at heart. Their friends and family treated us like one of their own, and at the end of the day, Josh and I couldn’t believe how naturally everything just worked. It was one of those “it’s all good” days, with the rain that was in the forecast completely skipping over our space, everyone being exactly where they needed to be, not only there, but really pumped to be a part of the day (especially our two superstar flowergirls, who were on point keeping everyone with genuine smiles during formals!). We truly are lucky that this is how we spend our days.
As soon as we told Jeff that Maria was on her way, tears filled his eyes, before he even saw her.
In case you’re wondering why everyone is having an overly great time standing in a line, this is what was going on behind the scenes!
At the end of our time with Maria & Jeff, we popped over to the golf course for a few quiet portraits before we said goodnight to the incredibly happy newlyweds!
And of course, thanks to the awesome team that made a great day for the happy couple!
